Steelcutting 5200XL series commenced

Tuesday the 18th of January 2022 the steel cutting commenced at shipyard Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry for the first two vessels of the 5200XL series ordered by the combined parties Lubeca / Jebsen / Braren from Germany. The combination ordered in total 14 vessels according the specification and design developed by Groot Ship Design. The 5200XL design is versatile minibulker, combining an ultra large cargohold, icecass 1A, modern layout / accommodation and efficient powering. Classification and building of the vessels is according DNV rules and regulations.

For the newbuildings of the 5200XL project Groot Ship Design cooperates with a dedicated broker ‘Toepfer Transport’ from Hamburg. Toepfer Transport is in charge of the commercial negotiations and is arranging the contracts between owners and shipyard.
