Successful christening and launch MV ’Vertom Rian’

MV ‘Vertom Rian’ was successfully christened and launched at Chowgule Shipyard in Goa on 16 March 2025.

She is the second in a series of twelve 6,000 DWT Diesel Electric Multi Purpose Dry Cargo Vessels.

The launch of MV ‘Vertom Rian’ was by ‘sideway drop launch’, a technique common for the Netherlands but not so much in India. Click here to see a movie of the launch.

The vessel is equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system featuring IMO Tier III-compliant engines. Its single fixed pitch propeller, optimized hull lines, and Groot Cross-Bow design enhance fuel efficiency and performance. Powered by a future-proof modular electric propulsion system, MV ‘Vertom Rian’ reflects dedication to innovation and sustainability.
